Josh Hamilton was traded to the Rangers
Just a little while ago, the Texas Rangers acquired Reds outfielder Josh Hamilton for two minor league pitchers, one being their projected fifth starter Edinson Volquez. Hamilton’s was best known from fighting substance abuse problems to work himself back into the majors last season, to hit .292 with 19HRs. He will either have an outfield spot, or have a role as the designated hitter.
This is a great move for the Rangers, since they replace the 20HRs and 90RBIs that Sammy Sosa had last season. Hamilton came at a price, since Volquez was easily one of their best pitchers to make his way up through Texas’ system recently. Still the move benefits both clubs, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Hamilton hits 25HR in a strong Rangers lineup.
